Pan Steamed Broccoli
Let’s face it, broccoli is one of those veggies that is incredibly healthy. Many of us get stuck on how to prepare it in order to make it more appealing to our families, especially some of the little ones who do not want to see greens on their plates. This is one way that is simple enough to prepare and tastes better than the plain old steamed version.

Ingredients
- 1 head of broccoli cut into florets
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Trim and clean the broccoli, set aside.In a pan, add the water, oil, garlic, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer then add the broccoli florets and cover the pan to allow the broccoli to steam for 3 minutes over high heat. Turn the heat off, add the lemon juice and let the broccoli sit in the pan for another 3 minutes to continue steaming in the residual heat. Then toss to coat the broccoli with any leftover juices in the pan. Serve immediately.Enjoy! 🙂
