Grilled Chicken Burger

Tender juicy chicken breast fillet/steaks sandwiched in a burger bun with salad, tomato slices, onion and mayo. The perfect grilled-chicken burger!! 🙂
Servings 4 Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500 gm boneless chicken breast trimmed and pounded lightly to flatten
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. soya sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. ginger paste
  • pinch of turmeric
  • pinch of tandoori masala
  • 1 tsp. red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp. red chilli flakes
  • juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  • Marinate the chicken in all the above ingredients for at least 2 hours.
    Now you can either:
Grill the chicken steak on a bbq grill on both sides until done (about 12-15 minutes per side)
    OR
Heat a hot steak pan or heavy griddle, add 2 tbsp. of oil to it and fry the steak on medium heat for about 10 minutes per side. Then increase the heat and give it a final fry of about 3-4 minutes per side or until it begins to slightly char. Do not crowd the pan, fry a few pieces at a time.
Slice and lightly toast your burger buns, then add whatever condiments/fillings you like…ketchup, mayo, cheese, chili, salad, tomato, onions…etc. Add a chicken steak and cover with the top half of the bun.
    Serve hot and enjoy!

W/Salaam, the trick is to avoid overcooking. Chicken WILL dry out fast if you cook it too long. Make sure the pan is hot and cook for no more than 4-5 minutes per side.

    1. Yes, each breast will fill 2
Yes, each breast will fill 2 burgers. And you can trim off the long edge after cooking and pile it on the burger.
