Cheesy Roll-Ups

These cute little roll up cheesy sandwiches are the perfect snack, especially for kids! They are easy to prepare and taste incredibly good. Sort of like a rolled up grilled cheese, only a lot cuter.
Servings 8 Rolls

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of fresh bread stale/dry bread will tend to crack durring rolling
  • cheese slices OR grated cheese or your choice I mixed grated mozzarella and cheddar
  • pizza suace or ketchup or chilli sauce optional
  • butter

Instructions

  • Trim the edges of the slice of break. Then, using a rolling pin, flatten the slices down. Spread some pizza sauce or ketchup or chilli sauce over the slice, then sprinkle the grated cheese or place a slice of cheese depending on what kind of cheese you are using. Roll the slice up and seal the end using a dab of water.
When all are done, warm up a touch butter or oil in a pan and cook the rolls on low heat, turning them regularly to ensure all the sides are evenly coloured. Remove and serve immediately. If you prefer, you can brush them very lightly with butter and back these in an oven or toaster until golden.
I served mine with home made marinara sauce, but any dip will do. They taste amazing even without any dip.
    Enjoy!

Notes

To change things up, you can shred and add chicken or veggies or any filling you want along with the cheese. Just take care not to over fill them as that will cause them to crack when rolling.

Shape, lightly fry just to help them hold their shape, allow them to cool and then freeze in an airtight container. Do not thaw them before re-frying, just place them on a lightly oiled pan and cook until they are warmed through and golden.
