Servings 6 people

Ingredients

  • 250 gm crushed wheat
  • 250 gm butter You can reduce up to 150gm
  • 1 tsp. fennel seeds
  • 500 ml milk used skimmed milk coz that's what I had at home, but you can use whole if you want it richer than this!
  • 200 ml evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar you can add or reduce according to your taste
  • pinch of saffron
  • pinch of cardamom powder
  • almond/pista flakes

Instructions

  • Heat the butter, add the fennel seeds, then add and cook the wheat in it until they turn crispy and brown. Add the evaporated milk followed by the regular milk and cook together until the wheat is almost done. Then add the sugar, saffron and cardamom, and cook together until it looks ready!
    Serve hot with almond/pista flakes.
    Enjoy!

  1. salaam.
    crushed wheat means wheat porridge?
second thing is,can we use whole milk instead of evaporated milk or is there any alternative of evaporated milk?

    1. W/Salaam, yes but not the flattened wheat, this is just crushed into smaller pieces. And yes you can use whole milk in place of EM.
