Mixed Kachumbar Salad

Perfect accompaniment to most Pilaus and Biryanis. Goes with lots of other dishes too. The kachumbar is seasoned with vinegar and lemon/lime.

Ingredients

lettuce/salad, sliced or shredded
2
carrots, grated
2
onions, sliced finely
1
tomato, sliced or chopped
2
green chillies, chopped
1
small cucumber, sliced
juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp
vinegar
salt to taste
Instructions 

Put some salt on the sliced onions and set aside for 10 minutes. This will help wilt them and remove the strong onion flavour. Rinse them out thoroughly and drain. Then mix everything together, season with the vinegar and lemon juice, and serve!

W/Salaam, I don't add salt coz vinegar has some salt in it. You can if you like.
