Buttered Noodles

Servings : Serves 3-4

Buttered noodles are a quick, easy and delicious side dish that goes well with fish or chicken or veggies. They are even perfect on their own with a little bit of ketchup.


  • 500 gm pasta/noodles of your choice (I used fettuccine)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp finely chopped parsley or coriander
  • 1/2 lemon lemon, zest and juice (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste


Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Reserve about half a cup of the water used for boiling the noodles.

Melt butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add in the cooked pasta and mix it around in the butter for a couple of minutes. Add the reserved water.

For added zing and freshness, add the zest and juice of half a lemon. Add salt and pepper to taste, then toss everything together and serve with accompaniment of your choice.
