Baked Fish Fillets

Slightly spicy, succulent and tangy fish fillets that are also very healthy!
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets I used kingfish but you can use hammour or tilapia or salmon…any fish fillet that you prefer
  • 3 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1-2 tsp salt
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp garlic paste
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • pinch of tandoori masala optional
  • 1-2 tbsp oil or melted butter

Instructions

  • Mix the salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, tandoori masala, garlic and the lemon juice to form a paste. Rub this paste on the fillets, then put them in a bowl and cover with cling film. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
Remove the fillets and brush them with the oil or melted butter on both sides, then lay them on a lightly greased baking tray. Pre-heat the oven at 200 C then bake for about 15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Remove and serve immediately with accompaniments of your choice!
    Enjoy!

    1. Sorry but have never baked in a pressure cooker so not sure how the results would turn out. You can try, let me know how it goes. 🙂

  1. No matter how greasy I make my baking tray, any sort of meat let it be fillets in breadcrumbs or your Chapli kabab’s too, they stick to it badly. I have evrn tried using wax paper but the meat stuck to it. How can I avoid this?

    1. Try to make sure the mince/meat is completely dry, if it has any extra moisture it will inevitably cause the meat to stick. Also be sure to put the tray into a very hot oven.

W/Salaam, thank you so much for the sweet comment. I will be praying all the dishes turn out brilliantly for you inshaAllah. Will most definitely keep adding more recipes to this section inshaAllah. If the fillets were not washed prior to freezing then yes, give them a rinse so they do not smell too fishy. And yes you can use a pyrex baking dish, grease it well but no need to line it with foil. 🙂
