- 1 cup peas fresh or frozen
- 2 tbsp oil
- 3 potatoes peeled and cubed
- 2 tomatoes blended to a puree
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- salt to taste
- 2 green chilies chopped
- 1/4 tsp garlic paste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander
Heat the oil, add onions and fry until they are golden. Add the garlic paste, fry for a couple of seconds then add the tomato paste. Sprinkle the turmeric, cumin and coriander powders, and 1 of the chopped chilies. Cook for a minute on low heat, then add the pureed tomatoes and cook until all the excess moisture evaporates and the tomatoes are cooked.Add the cubed potatoes and peas into the mixture, stir it in and sprinkle some salt. Then add about half cup water (or more depending on how much gravy you need). Simmer on low heat until the potatoes are tender and peas are cooked through.Adjust salt and add the remaining chopped green chilli, garam masala and chopped coriander.Serve! 🙂
