Servings : Serves 4
Green beans make for a great accompaniment to many dishes. They are also very easy to prepare, making them the ideal side to quick meals. These have an Asian twist to them.
Ingredients
- 250gm fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp cornstarch/cornflour
- pinch of brown sugar
- chilli flakes (optional)
- sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Wash and trim the beans. Bring water to a boil and add them in, allow to boil for 3 minutes. Drain and plunge them into cold water then drain again. This will ensure they retain their vivid fresh green colour.
Heat the oil in a pan, then add ginger and garlic. Stir for some seconds until fragrant. Add the beans and saute for 3-5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix together the water, soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar and chilli flakes. Then pour this mixture onto the beans and stir well for 30 seconds. Turn off the heat and sprinkle some sesame seeds over the beans.
Serve and Enjoy!
