Servings : Makes 40-50 pieces
The quickest, easiest, yummiest fudge everrr!
- 14oz. semi-sweet chocolate (420gm)
- 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk (395gm)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. butter, room temperature
- Mini M&M;’s, chopped nuts, smarties, all-sorts halal licorice, etc.
- 1 heaped tbsp. coconut (optional)
I used about 50 gm. chopped hazelnuts and almonds plus about a cup of assorted candy that I had lying around at home. You can use any that you have on hand. Preferably soft candy that will be easy to bite into. 🙂
Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a small sauce pot and turn on medium heat. Sprinkle the salt. Heat for about 5 minutes. Add the chocolate and stir with a wooden spoon until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is thick and smooth. Remove from the heat, add vanilla and butter and mix until creamy and smooth.
Now stir in your ‘add ins’. You can add whatever you want or like, nuts, smarties, allsorts licorice, jelly beans…I stirred in most of my add ins but left some to decorate the top of the fudge.
Line an 11×7 pan or a 9×9 square pan with parchment or plastic wrap and butter it well. Then pour in the chocolate mixture. Decorate with your reserved sweets and put in the fridge for at least 4 hours or until set. The time it takes to set depends on the weather, takes longer in warmer climate. It also may depend on the quality of the condensed milk that you use.
When ready to cut, remove the fudge from the pan and cut straight through with your knife. Clean your knife between cuts to make cutting easier and less messy.
