Honey & Sauce Chicken Wings

Servings : Serves 2

Easy healthy wings, combining the spicy with the sweet. Perfect as an appetiser or for enjoying on game-nights!

Ingredients

  • 10-12 cleaned chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp. soya sauce (preferably light)
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp. tomato paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
  • crushed red chilli or chilli powder (optional if u like very spicy wings)
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. bbq sauce
  • 2 tbsp. worchestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp. nando's periperi sauce (I prefer lime n coriander, mild)
  • 1 tsp. garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp. oil

Instructions

Marinate the wings in all the ingredients for at least 4-5 hours. If you don’t have some of the sauces, it’s ok…just use whatever sauces you have at home. The important ones are soya sauce and ketchup. The rest are just to add extra spice and flavour.

Lay some foil on a baking tray and arrange the wings. Turn on the oven grill to max. Grill for about 10 minutes, then reduce the heat slightly and continue grilling for another 10 minutes. Remove the wings, turn them over and grill the other side for another 20 minutes. That makes a total of 40mins in the oven. Don’t darken the wings, they should remain slightly moist, but you can add on the cooking time if you find them not done to your preference yet.

Enjoy!
