- 250 gm snow peas
- 1 garlic clove finely minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp chilli flakes optional, for heat
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Wash the peas and place them in a pot, add some water. Turn the heat on to high. Bring to a boil then give them 1-2 more minutes of boiling before removing the pot from the heat. Drain the peas and immediately run cold water through them for about a minute, make sure they are all cooled enough to stop cooking. In the same pan, heat the butter and oil. Sauté the garlic and ginger for a few seconds until fragrant then add in all the rest of the ingredients. Stir until heated through. Add the snow peas back into the pan and sprinkle in a bit of salt and pepper for seasoning. Mix together until well coated. Then turn the heat off, cover the pan and let it stand for a couple of minutes before serving so that the flavours are well infused.Enjoy!
