- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 kg beef mince
- 2-3 onions chopped finely
- 1 tsp. garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp. ginger paste
- oregano optional
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 6-8 fresh tomatoes blended with skin or chopped fine
- 2-3 tbsp. tomato paste
- chopped coriander
- 1 tsp. chilli powder or flakes
- 1 green chilli chopped finely
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Heat the oil, then fry the onions until translucent, then add the ginger and garlic pastes. Fry for a minute, then add the mince and fry on high heat until brown and crumbly. Use a wooden spoon to break any lumps in the meat.Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and all the herbs and spices, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let this simmer for about an hour until most of the liquid is gone and you have a thick sauce. The longer you simmer this the tastier the results.Once thick, turn off the heat and use! This sauce can also be frozen and used whenever needed. 🙂
