One of my favorite after Iftar drinks. This healthy and delicious shake will both fill you up as well as give you that extra burst of energy that will refresh & rejuvenate your body after a long day of fasting.

Ingredients
3 cups
chilled milk
(whole or skimmed)
10
almonds, blanched/peeled and crushed
10
soft dates, deseeded and chopped
1
large scoop vanilla ice-cream
Instructions

To blanch/peel almonds, heat some water in a small pan. Once almost boiling, add the almonds into it, turn off the heat and allow the almonds to sit for about 2 minutes. Drain and the peels should easily slide off the almonds when pressed.

In a blender, add the dates, crushed almonds and 1 cup of the chilled milk. Blend until the dates are well combined and smooth. Add the remaining milk and vanilla ice-cream. Blend until frothy. Taste and adjust consistency by adding milk to thin the shake or ice-cream to thicken/sweeten it. Serve cold!

Enjoy! :)

W/Salaam, this is a bug with Google Chrome update. Try checking with any other browser and it should be fine. Like Explorer or Firefox. :)

Salaams Fauzia
Want to try this for Iftar, can we use date paste instead of whole dates? Thank you.
