Cupcakes are always a great idea, they are perfectly neat ready-to-eat portions of cake. Basically any cake recipe can be made into cupcakes. In this case I have used a combination of my basic chocolate cake recipe and vanilla cake recipe, combined the two batters in each cupcake liner to make these lovely half chocolate - half vanilla cupcakes! Best of both worlds! I have topped them with chocolate ganache and crushed nuts.

Ingredients for Chocolate Ganache
500 gm
chopped semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup
whipping cream
1 tsp
butter
flavouring of your choice - like vanilla (few drops)
Instructions

These are the recipes I've used: Basic Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Cake

Prepare your cupcake batter as per the recipe you are using.

Preheat your oven to 170 C

Line your cupcake pan, then add a heaped teaspoonful of vanilla batter carefully in one side of each liner and a heaped teaspoonful of chocolate batter to fill the other side. So you will have half chocolate half vanilla. The batter should come up to about halfway or three-quarter way  of the liner depending how full you want your cupcake.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick stuck in the center of each cupcake comes out clean. Remove from the pan and allow to cool completely.

You can leave them plain, dust them with icing sugar or frost them as preferred.

For Chocolate Ganache:

Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Set aside. Heat the cream and butter in a medium sized saucepan over medium heat. Bring just to a boil (edges will start bubbling slightly). Immediately pour the boiling cream over the chopped chocolate and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly... about 5 minutes. Apply on your cupcakes and sprinkle crushed nuts or sprinkles and allow to set.

Enjoy! :)

if i donot have cupcake liner, can i place the mixture directly in the cup cake tray without any liner

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Yes you can but just make sure to grease and flour the cups of the tray well so the cakes do not stick.

I can't find the Naasi Goreng recipe can you please tell me under which topic its there as its not there in "Rice Meals"

for how much time we have to preheat oven????

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Takes about 15-20 minutes to reach a temperature of 170-180 C depending on size of your oven. Normally there should be some sort of indicator when that temp is reached.

Fauzia baji the cupcakes were awesome but there was one issue. al the cupcakes were stuck with the cupcake liner:(( anything i did wrong?

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Probably something with the liners, try a different type of liner and see if that helps. Normally the liner should be easy to peel off the cupcake.

Is there any difference between whipping cream and normal cream?

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Whipping cream is heavier than regular cooking/single cream.

Salaam. Is the semi sweet chocolate in this recipe dark or normal
Milk chocolate? JazakAllah.

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Semi sweet chocolate is different from milk chocolate. It is less sweet. And slightly darker.

Assalamu alaikum.
Can i make the chocolate and vanilla batter together using one batter,to make 24 cupcakes.if so how is it possible?

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

W/Salaam, yes you can make the vanilla cake batter (reduce 6 tbsp from the flour measurement) then divide the batter into two bowls. Add the 3 tbsp flour in one bowl and 3 tbsp cocoa powder in the other bowl and mix to combine. Then use accordingly.

Jazakallah soo much sister.

Can I use silicone cupcake liners? Do I need to keep paper liners to it
