Coconut Chutney

I use freshly grated coconut for this tasty chutney that goes well with all kinds of snack/finger-foods like pack potatoes, bhajias, samosas, kababs, etc.


  • 1 heaped cup freshly grated coconut
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5-10 green chillies, chopped (depending on how hot or mild you like it)
  • 2-4 tbsp grated raw mango or juice of 1 lemon (you can use a little of both if you prefer it tangier)
  • water as needed for blending


Put everything in a blender and blend until smoth and well combined. Taste and adjust salt and chilli according to your taste.

You can freeze this in small tins for up to a month and remove to thaw whenever you need it.
