Servings : Serves 3-4
Perfectly tender, spicy and juicy, these world-famous and delicious wings are one of my firm favourites! I prefer oven-frying these (which basically means I bake them on a greased tray and lightly spray or brush oil over them) as opposed to the more common regular frying, so they are relatively healthier without any compromise on the amazing taste!!
Ingredients for Marinade
- 500gm chicken wings, cleaned and divided into flats and drummettes - marinate the wings for at least 2 hours in the ingredients below
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. chilli powder
- 1 tbsp. tomato sauce/ketchup
- 1 tbsp. oil
Ingredients for Buffalo Sauce
- 4 tbsp. butter or oil
- 1 tbsp. honey or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 2-3 tbsp. hot sauce/chilli sauce
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper or chilli powder for extra hot wings
- 1/2 tsp. garlic paste
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- salt to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Buffalo Sauce while chicken is baking
For the Chicken Wings
When ready to cook, preheat your oven at 180 C.
Take a big plastic bag, add half a cup of all purpose/plain flour into it. Drop the wings into the bag in 2-3 batches, and shake until the flour coats all the wings perfectly.
Remove the wings and place them on a greased tray. Lightly spray the wings with some oil. You can also use a brush and brush the wings lightly with oil.
Bake for about 25 minutes. Remove and turn the wings. Put them back in the oven and bake for another 25 minutes.
For the Buffalo Sauce
Heat the oil or butter. Add garlic and stir fry until fragrant. Add all the other ingredients and simmer until thick and saucy. Adjust to your taste and consistency.
Once the wings are ready, toss them in this sauce and then spread them out on the tray for a few minutes to absorb the flavor and cool slightly.
Serve and Enjoy!! 🙂

can i use dis recipe for all chicken pieces , instead of only wings?
Yes, perfectly ok to use any chicken pieces. Just remember that bigger pieces like thigh or drum-stick may take longer to get fully done so allow some extra baking time for those.
Can i do dis wit chicken neck?
Never tried it.
Salams fauzia, the wings u used for this dish , are they with or without skin?
W/Salaam, with skin. Difficult to get the skin off wings, and they taste awesome with them anyways.
AMAZING recipe! Made it for iftaar yesterday n it was “finger licking good”!! Thanks!!
How many people does this serve?
Depends on what else you are serving with this dish. Should be enough for 2-3 people.

I just have a couple of questions like, can we bake them in electric oven and if yes for how long, further wont the wings stick to the tray despite greasing them and furthermore do we have to brush them with oil rite after tossing them in flour and placing them in the tray?
Thanks! Yes you can bake them
Thanks! Yes you can bake them in an electric oven, same temp and time as the recipe states. If you grease the tray they will not stick. And yes brush them after tossing them in flour when they are on the tray.
