lemons, juiced and zested
1-2
green chillies, chopped
1 tsp
mustard seeds
1 tsp
cumin seeds
(chopped finely)
2 tbsp
oil
2
curry leaves/limro
Instructions

First prepare the Liver

Heat oil in a pan, fry onions until translucent, then add liver with ginger/garlic pastes and add all the spices along with lemon juice, green chillies and salt/pepper. Cook until the liver changes colour and is about done. Add the fried potatoes and stir together so the potatoes get well coated with the onion masala.

Once done, immediately remove from heat, otherwise the liver will become hard if over-cooked. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Next, prepare the Rice

Heat the oil, add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds, followed by the curry leaves and green chilli.

Add the lemon juice followed by the rice. Stir together for a few minutes until it is heated through then add the zest and serve hot!

Delicious

can i use cow's liver? which kind of liver is better beef or mutton? thanks

Yes you can. I prefer mutton/lamb liver.

That is strange, liver should not taste bitter. Is this normal for whenever you make liver? Try buying it from a different butchery.

W/Salaam. Dried chillies that are crushed into pieces.

Hi, can i use curry powder if leaves is not available. And can i use mustard paste if mustard seeds is not available? Thank you.

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Hi, no..curry leaves are not the same as curry powder. They have very different flavours. You can leave it out if you do not have it.

Slm. I Dnt see much of the mustard seeds, cumin seeds or the curry leaves in ur picture. Do u use less thn ur measurement? does it over power the taste of lemon?

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

W/Salaam, it's just the picture quality is poor..this was one of my earliest pics. It doesn't overpower the lemon taste, instead it helps intensify the lemon flavour.

Wow looking so lovely

Thank you!! Turned out great :))
